Frequently Asked Questions

What are your values around waxing?

Being queer and trans myself, I know how intimidating, uncomfortable, dysphoric and sometimes harmful it can be to get waxing services. Whether you view waxing as fun, a form of self care, or a necessity for your work or art, I am committed to making it available and accessible to you. I also continue to educate myself on how to make my studio even more accesible. I do this by listening to audiobooks and podcasts on how to make services and spaces accesible to all, including people of color, indigenous people, and sex workers. (Sex work is real work!)

What can clients expect when working with you?

I try to create a calm space for my clients. I want to know what my client's pronouns are; if my client has any needs, boundaries and requirements; and how my client’s headspace is on any certain day. This way I can know if they want a silent appointment or if there are any topics they do or don't want to talk about.

What areas of the body do you wax?

I wax everything except scalp hair.

What tools and materials do you use?

I use hard wax to wax armpit, pubic, anus, brow, and facial hairs. I use soft wax to wax arm, chest, back, stomach and leg hair. Hard wax is applied to the body with a wood popsicle stick, cooled, and then removed quickly. Soft wax is applied to the body with a wood popsicle stick; then, a cotton strip is applied on top of the wax and the strip plus wax is removed quickly. After the whole area is waxed, I clean up any residue with a cleaning oil and apply pure aloe vera to soothe the skin.

What sets you apart from other waxers?

I’m trans! While there are some waxers who are friendly and professional to queer, trans and gender nonconforming people, it's calming and reassuring to go to a service provider who is also a part of your community, who supports your community (outside of work), and who has similar values and life experiences (especially with a service as intimate as waxing).

Are you willing to mask?

I am absolutely willing to wear a mask during appointments. When you book with me, there is an option to select this as a preference.
